Agapanthus

Hi. Just wondering if it is to early to split my Agapanthus plants that are getting quite large and are grown in pots. Also have started a Agapanthus collection and have about a dozen young plants of different varieties and wondered if they could be kept in the greenhouse all year round or if it would be to hot for them in summer.

Re your large plants, are they deciduous varieties? I’m in the same situation, they’ve been neglected for a couple of years. My logic was to leave them til Spring as they won’t grow over winter.
Considering where they originate from I think they’d cope in a greenhouse as long as they’re kept watered.

One of them is called Queen Mum and it flowered really well this year. The other one I had given to me  is called something Alba. Can't remember the exact name as my young Spaniel nicked all the labels. All the others are still very young plants are all in the greenhouse.

Queen Mum, and 'Africanus' Albus are evergreen varieties and would benefit from winter protection, but they're perfectly happy outside all summer.
Mine all stayed out last winter and all but 2 of the 75 survived .
    Devon.
