Can anyone identify this plant seed

These seeds are dispersed everywhere every year towards the end of summer. Does anyone know what plant seed it is? There's lots and lots of them. It covers all the ground and lands on clothes, indoors etc.

It's tiny so I took a photo of it next to my finger for reference.

Definitely silver birch. We get tons of them from the tree in the garden across the road.

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
