Does anyone know what this is???

I’ve found a little shrub that’s popped up in one of my beds. Not sure what is is? It’s coming out but don't know if worth potting up or moving elsewhere?

It looks like field maple to me, but I'm not sure. Is it woody?

I thought that too, @LG_, but there are others it could be.

Lots of field maples around here both big and small.
The pic looks similar, but I've never seen shiny leaves on them and the leaves are much smaller.

  • Yes it’s woody… should I get rid or pot it up? Potential bonsai maybe?

I'd pot up and see how it grows, it looks quite pretty and what do you have to lose?

Yes put it in a pot and let us all know what happens.

I'm thinking field maple too. Unless you really want a tree I'd throw it away.
