  Too funny. I looked at the diascia and thought the blooms were bigger on that. But revisiting it I think you’re right. 

  Now to investigate the habitat and see if it’ll work in my garden!

  I don't think the flower's right for Verbena "Bampton". It looks more like a diascia to me.

  Yes Diascia. Some seem to be hardier than others. Years ago there was a choice of two, one was D Ruby Field, that would come through a milder winter here.
  Saw some in pots yesterday at the GC for £1.00 they were struggling and I doubt they would survive the winter.
  There seems to be alot of different ones to choose from in various shades now. Annual or frost tender perennial.

  I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

  DP says D. personata  is hardy down to about -8 C. Beth Chatto's says "full hardy". (links below)
