Osmanthus heterophyllus aureomarginatus 'Goshiki'
A mouthful of a name but I can thoroughly recommend this evergreen shrub.
It's quietly variegated with cream so it doesn't 'shout' at you, has holly like leaves, slow growing and doesn't seem to have any pests and diseases. It's also easy to prune.
I've had mine for about 5-10 years, planted in a raised bed right outside our bedroom window and enjoy seeing it when I draw the curtains each morning. It's now about 3-4 ft high.
