We made a gravel garden this spring and its been my favourite place in the garden all summer plus looks beautiful. The pollinator activity is immense and we're not in a dry spot either. Well worth considering.
@ontopofthehill I have just seen the link to your gravel garden on one of your threads and your gravel garden has that lovely wafty serene beach look, it is simply glorious! ☺️ i think what you have done could work in different sized and shaped spaces too. I hope you can post updates of it from time to time!
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
Beautiful large flower pots and chemical weed killer should do the trick. There is a time and place to use chemicals and this is it. The flower pots could sit on these nice stone slabs you can buy from GC and add a solar fountain. Chemical weed killers neutralise when they hit soil so there will no chemical build up. Surprisingly there was a garden near us very similar to yours and the gravel section was always a mess for years and probably still is.

Thank you so much @clematisdorset! Always nice to get positive feedback. I love it too but need to move a few things about cause got the spacing wrong. Like many other people we got into gardening during lockdown so much learning through mistakes but it really has transformed the front garden and hopefully as things grow in will improve in time.
Gravel or sand garden definitely gets my vote for your space OP.
