YOU GARDEN & GARDENING DIRECT

Does anyone know if these companies are connected/are part of the same group and has anyone had good experiences with either of them? (Or any experience, good/bad/other)?

  • That is interesting. I have never heard of them so that could be good or bad.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

I have bought from them before without any problems.

I bought a special offer of 5 roses for £15 from Yougarden several years ago and have been very pleased with them. Only one rose wasn't up to the standard of the others and at that price I wasn't too bothered about that.

I've bought several plants from you garden, and they have all been fine. They are pricey though so I wait for them to put things on sale
  • Thank you @pansyface, that is helpful. I think I once ordered from somewhere that sounded like gardening.something and the plants were poor but I don't have a record of the company name but it made me feel wary. The You Garden & Gardening Direct (.co.uk) websites looked virtually identical to me when I looked up bedding plants yesterday....now I understand why....
That is good to know, @Ladybird4, & @gjautos. I think @GardenerSuze, once you click on one of their products via a search engine, their products are more likely to appear first in a search, so they got to me almost subliminally! Thank you @Lizzie27, that is helpful to know about the roses - I am tempted to have another look.

The other thing I noticed yesterday is that prices for the same items seemed different, similar to what happens with RHS/Crocus/Waitrose Garden products, so maybe these companies have different core customers they are trying to attract.

I may well take the plunge with You Gardening or Gardening Direct (.co.uk)!

  • Just to say that I ordered from You Garden, some 'garden-ready' bedding plants - a mix of primroses - and they arrived in good condition within one week, so a good experience (so far!).
