Wondering how to care for this mint plant in a pot

I have this mint plant which I planted into a pot a few months ago.  It's in a very sunny spot (when it's sunny) outside next to a brick wall. It was looking healthy a few weeks ago, but now I can see a lot of leaves have gone brown. It is throwing out stems with leaves, trying to spread.
I was wondering how best to care for it now?
Online they say after flowering cut it right down to soil level in autumn, but mine didn't flower as it's a new plant. I'm wondering if I should just leave it as-is but cut out any bad bits.
Also wondering if I should I leave it outside over winter or not.
Thank you very much for any suggestions!

It will die down for winter anyway. Any tatty bits can be cut off now.  Then put the whole pot up against a wall for the winter. It will come back in the spring.  If you have a cold greenhouse or a porch, if you put it there, it will sprout earlier in Spring.

Thank you so much fidgetbones! When should I cut everything off to soil level, to allow it to make new leaves - is that something I do in early spring?

It will drop leaves over the next few weeks, then just trim the stalks down.
  • I trimmed all my potted mints right back the other week. It’s pretty resilient.

I have the same silvery spots on my mint and foxgloves. Which bug is it that does that, please?

As others have said - it's pretty indestructible @Pink678, so you can trim it now or spring,  or just remove any dead material.
It won't really matter what you do, but if you use it a lot, it might be worth just taking growth to use now while it still has any reasonable material.  :)

Depending on how you like to use it, you can also pick and freeze some.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thank you everyone, much appreciated. I'll trim off the bad looking stuff now, then leave the healthier leaves for a little while and maybe make some mint tea, then trim the rest either the next few weeks or spring time.
