Eriobotrya japonica (Nispero, Loquat)

I'm looking for some advice regarding my Eriobotrya japonica tree.  The leaves seem to be under attack by something, but I can't easily see any culprits (except the obvious little friend that you can see on one of the leaves), and so I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help me get closer to working out what is happening to them, and then maybe also find a natural way to prevent so much damanage in the future.

I have some pictures here of some healthy new growth, but also, some pictures of what inevitably begins to happen to the leaves.

I have two trees and they are planted in a site with lots of sun, clay soil, and quite well watered.  The soil is enriched with well-rotted manure, multi-purpose compost and composted pine bark, covered with decorative bark.
