Everything is as normal on this site for me on my ancient laptop.
  • Are you on a phone or laptop, @Valley Gardener?
  • I use both iPhone and a Machook Air to access this forum and am
not experiencing any real problems, although avoiding ‘clicking’ on the current large advert for a fruit drink is a PITA when scrolling on my phone.

Too many bells and whistles and videos  on some of the adverts messes up the loading of the site
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Same as @floralies  no evident problem on my laptop.

I have trouble, but feel it's due to the adverts popping up and being slightly slower to load than the text.  I use my iPad, and when I go the main forum page I have to wait a few seconds as the page text jumps up and down a bit until it settles.  Every. Single. Time. Not found a solution yet.

  • Sounds like a Javascript issue with your browser/system, @Valley Gardener
Some browsers allow to turn off Javascript, and then see if you still have issues.
Also empty you cache and cookies in your browser settings, but make sure that the passwords are not deleted.
Finally, check your system/computer age. You will not believe how many expect a granny machine to run like a youngster.

  • As well as clearing your cache and cookies, restart your computer, so click 'restart' rather than just off then on again. A restart can clear errors that have got stuck in your system whereas off/on won't.
  • Many thanks for all the replies.
I have a Lenovo 10 tablet around a year old bought new.
I know how to clear my history and downloads but very wary of other stuff as I'm not sure what I'm doing.
It just seems strange that these weird things seem to be happening only on this site.
    My emails etc are fine.

@NormandyLiz.  Do I go to settings to clear cookies?

Thankyou for your help everyone lucky if I get this posted🙄

  • @Valley Gardener, it can depend on which browser you use, but generally ctrl-shift-del will take you to where you can clear all browsing data. It's a good idea to clear cache and cookies from time to time. Cache is effectively a little packet of data that keeps images (e.g. standard images on home pages) and things like that on your computer so sites load more quickly. If those stored images become corrupted they can cause problems when loading that site. You won't cause your laptop any problems clearing them, and ditto with cookies.

If you can't find where to clear your cache and cookies, let us know which browser you use.
