Speckled skin on apples.

My apples have a finely speckled discolouration on them this year. I have never seen it before but am guessing the weather is probably the cause. The marks do not go into the flesh and do not affect the flavour. The only other problem I had with the tree this year was blackfly on the leaves on the tips of the shoots early in the season which I would not think would affect the fruit. The only other thought I have had is it might be a mineral imbalance.
