Getting pump out of pond

I can no longer kneel to reach down into the pond to get hold of the pump.  What devises are available to raise the pump and get it to the edge of the pond.  Some form of platform with a remote control that I can raise and navigate perhaps.  How do other people get their pumps out of the pond ?

I've never used one @vikkivmortimore21218 , as I always have wildlife ponds, but I expect people just go into the pond itself if the pump's bigger and they can't reach it easily from the side.
Is there anyone who could possibly do that for you?

My fish pond pump has a handle on the top, so I could use a pole with a hook at the end to lift it tout

I have that problem with my lilies. I am able to bounce them towards the edge and then pull them out.

At a certain stage one has to cut back on gardening tasks.  Bunnie Guiness in Saturday's Telegraph had a article on this.  Perhaps when the word "potter" becomes "task" it is already too late.

If you can get somebody to grab the pump in the first instance, get a piece of nylon cord and tie it to the pump and secure the other end so it can't fall in.  They you will just have to put it out by the cord.  Hopefully you would just be able to drop it back in.

According to Archimedes, the pump should have some bouyancy.
