Begonia x Hiemalis Care

CraighBCraighB Posts: 758
Hi Guys,

I bought a couple of Begonias x Hiemalis yesterday as they were going cheap at Homebase and I'm not sure what to do with them over winter?

Do I cut the stems off to the soil and do I need to take out the tubers? Or should I just leave them in the pot and keep them in a frost free place until next spring?

Thanks
Craigh

  • I think your second option is the one, if they have some sizeable rizomes they will be fine to repot in fresh medium in the spring and just keep them dry and protected over the winter.
