Dying alpinia

How do I save this sad-looking Alpinia? The temperature in the house here in Spain is a steady 24 degrees, more in the summer, I keep the plant out of direct sun, keep the soil damp, and yet it's not thriving. Any ideas?

@saoirse35180493 I don't know this plant but the pot does look small if it were mine I would check the roots, are they dry, is it pot bound , have the roots been eaten. It's more than likely a watering issue.
