Hardy perrenial seedlings

I've recently managed to grow lupin seedlings and delphinium seedlings for next year in the greenhouse for overwintering which are approx 2 to 3 inches in height now (sept). What and how do you keep them alive over winter? First time of sowing HP at this time of year

Pot them on as necessary, and I would probably keep them in the g/h until Spring. Don’t plant them out until they fill at least 1l. Pots, preferably bigger.
How can you lie there and think of England

  • Ok thanks. Will they die down though as the plant does in border overwinter?

Yes - they'll die back, so make sure you label them  ;)
The reason for potting on is because small plants are very vulnerable when they emerge in spring, and those two plants are particularly enjoyed by slugs and snails. That's the time when you really have to be vigilant with them.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
