Digitalis lutea in the shade?

LG_LG_ Posts: 4,360
I have some Digitalis lutea to plant out and would very much like to place them in a bed that is in fairly full shade (earlier in the year, before the trees fully leaf out, there is some sun). They are supposed to be prefer sun to partial shade, but also to be pretty tolerant of most conditions. Has anyone grown them successfully in shade, or does anyone have any opinions on my plans?

  • I have some in sun, some in part shade and some in full shade of a birch tree - I had a lot of seedlings so thought it was worth a try.  They've flowered and grown well in each position, so if I were you I think I'd give it a go.   :)
