Camelias being eaten by unknown pest - help!
Hi. I have a Camelia that I've had a couple of years. The first year I had a few beautiful blooms on it. Last year most of the healthy blooms seemed to be bitten off and end up on the ground before they could bloom properly. That was a big disappointment. Some bite marks also started appearing on some of the leaves. I checked for pests, but didn't spot anything. This year, lots of potential blooms are just starting to form, but there are also more bite marks on the leaves appearing. I fear a repeat of last year. I have looked for culprits during daytime and at night, but not spotted anything yet. See attached pictures. Any ideas or advice on what I can do to improve matters would be very gratefully received.

They generally don’t come out in daylight and could be hiding under pots or in random dark corners of the garden.
I’ve not had to deal with them too much, just a few nibbled leaves on my roses here and there (no chewed buds, and only ever saw one adult vine weevil in the garden), for which I tried vine weevil nematodes. Seems to have worked but I have to say I don’t go out looking for them actively at night, assessing damage, etc.
You were right. I have so far found, and destroyed, 5 vine weevils on my Camelia bush.
