heart shaped leaf weeds?

Can anybody please help me identify the heart shaped (weeds?) below which have creeping roots and despite digging them out year on year I am looking to eradicate them permanently

They look a lot like Coltsfoot.

I think it's Jack-by-the-Hedge (going mostly by the rounded indentation at the stalk end of the leaf). See if it smells a bit garlicky when you crush a leaf (another of its common names is hedge garlic).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
