What is this and has it died ?!

It used to blossom but over the last 3-4 weeks has turned into, what looks like a dead shrub.
Any ideas please :)

    Morning ... and welcome. 🙂

    When you say "blossom", do you mean general flowers or actual blossom?  It looks like it could be a clematis.   Can you remember when it flowered?  Spring, early summer, more recently?

    It's a clematis @markhchivers08188 , but you'd need to give more info so that useful advice can be given.   :)
    Many people were losing C. montanas earlier this year, or finding them slow, depending on location and climate, so if it's one of those, it may benefit from being cut back and therefore rejuvenated. It looks likely to be one, judging by the amount of frame in the pic. They were fine round here, but our season is later, so they weren't generally affected by the couple of sharper spells.
    There are some tiny bits of green showing, but it's impossible to gauge anything from that unfortunately. 
    A pic from further out, and some info about the site and conditions will help  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
