Cats fouling flower beds

I have tried everything so far suggested to stop next door's cats from fouling my flowerbeds.  I used to love cats but now hate them with a vengeance!  Has anyone ever succeeded??

No is the short answer  :)
People will suggest all sorts of things - but they rarely work long term with persistent offenders. If you put jaggy stuff on borders for example, they crap on the grass instead.

I find the water scarecrows best, but can only use them for about 6 months of the year as they freeze up. It also depends on whether you can locate them so that they don't soak everyone who's legitimately visiting - postmen etc.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Another £1 for me
    Devon.
  • Would you feel able to discuss the problem with your neighbours at all ?  Sometimes it is simply that they are completely unaware of the situation and would perhaps be willing to act responsibly and restrict their pets to their own property.
Unfortunately that scenario is pretty rare but may be worth trying ?
As @Fairygirl says, there isn't a simple solution and it is a countrywide problem.
