What is this please


I really should start putting labels on my plants. Can anyone identify
This plant in the front. Is it a really big Tagettes of some form ???

    Does it smell like tagetes if you crush a leaf?

    I think it's orange Cosmos too.
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Thanks  There is no smell when I crush the leaves. I did plant some Cosmos thereabouts
    that are growing but they have been swamped by these huge plants. The leaves are different. On the smaller plants the leaves are definitely. Cosmos quite small and fern like. But these leaves are much much bigger. Thats what made me ask the question. But its a very good chance that they are Cosmos. So I will go with that.

    D'uh, l should have recognised them as Cosmos.
    I have some that are very similar looking in my own garden 🙄

    cosmos sulphureus can get to 6ft and looks very similar

  • @Market Boy Well worth saving some seed for next year if you would like to grow them again.
