Hemerocallis propagation

After tidying up some day lilies, I found a few plantlets on old flower stems. Any tips on how to grow these on?

I would remove the green stems up to just below where there are root buds and plant in pots in good compost until the roots fill the pot.

Ah ... but what is "good compost" these days.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

They will root very easily in water, and then you can pot them up.

I use 1 part Jack's Magic with 3 parts sifted leaf mould and 1 part sharp sand. I add some slow release fertiliser to that mix.
