PAXTON'S ROCKS

Have Joseph Paxton's rocks been moved about at Chatsworth? Something is different, I think the artistry has gone.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Yes, the whole rockery has been re designed by Tom Stuart Smith, along with large areas elsewhere in the garden.

    @punkdoc Oh dear. You can now see the house from the rock garden a great vista.
    Sadly you can't improve on what was perfect. I visited yesterday and overheard someone make this same comment.
    The planting around the maze was stunning a great departure from the rose garden before.

    I don't have a problem with it, and I think the planting has been improved considerably. I am lucky to go regularly, as I only live a few miles away.

  • @punkdoc I agree regarding the planting. You can also buy some of the plants they grow in the garden.
