A diary also helps with what things are in flower (or interest, or being pruned or potted etc) when. I have a big A4 diary that I will add to, and refer to every year (just putting the year in the entry for reference).
East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.
  • I started my page-a-day A4 garden diary yesterday @SueAtoo. There's a lot to start with but it'll be useful in future when I post pictures of my gorgeous garden and people ask what my fabulous plants are. 🤣 Also I have a head like a sieve and have already forgotten what I planted last week!
  • Thank you for everyones advice. Sorry  I’m not sure how to reply individually !!

  • I’m also not sure how to post photos to the website but I will find out. Happy gardening 🪴🌻🪴

The icon that looks like hills is the one for photos. Keep them smaller [around 1MB] so that they load more easily.
You don't need to reply to people individually  :)
If you want - you can reply to something in particular by using the '@' symbol. You do that and start typing the name, and it will bring up name suggestions. Just click the one you want.    :)
The detail is important though - you mentioned laurels for example,  in your original post, but we have no way of knowing how they relate to anything else. If you can do a pic of each boundary, as well as a pic of the whole space -taken from your house maybe, that will give a better idea of the site.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
