Another month has passed and the Rhod. Is looking either very sick or very Autumnal. Is it possible this is a deciduous Rhod that will be losing it's leaves or is it just very sick? Garden Centre had only labelled it Azalea Joponica...
It is fine...looks good. The buds for next year are looking good. It is deciduous so it will lose all the leaves soon. Azaleas leaves often turn a super colour in the autumn. Relax.
Make sure next year to keep it well watered.
PS. All Azaleas are botanically Rhododendrons...but often they are called Azalea. Some are deciduous...some are evergreen. Some tiny ..some large.
This is a relief. I had a feeling it was a deciduous "Rhodzalea." It's quite leggy and and it's shape made me think it could be. It's colours are quite pretty. I'll try take better care of it next year.
Your Azalea looks lovely in its Autumn guise. Like a little fire.
I really quite like these Azaleas. I've been informed of the Rhod/Azalea debate but either way, they look great. They are not commonly for sale in mainstream garden centres, well ones I have been too. Probably a good thing tbh. I'd end up buying another every trip.

Pic below shows my Rhododendron quinquefolia in October many years ago.
