Problem with trees

Hi, I’m looking for advice. I have a small wooded area next to a stream and two of the trees suddenly don’t look very happy and I’m not sure it’s just the end of summer. They are a willow and a Rowan, they have been fine all year and now half the willow has turned prematurely yellow and the Rowan seems to be dying in places. It is also affecting another plant (not sure what it is) that is situated next to the willow. See pictures:

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Many thanks!

My guess would be that they're very dry and are simply stressed. Both those trees need huge amounts of water. It's normal for rowans to be autumnal at this time of year here, but if that's not the case where you live, being too dry is the most likely reason. It certainly doesn't look like a healthy specimen just getting it's autumn colours.
Another reason could be physical damage of some kind.

Not easy to see from the photos though, as it's only a few close ups of foliage. It would be good if we could see the base and how the trees are growing   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
