I'm afraid this isn't wildly local, but we had to go to Rouen for a check up for my husband at the hospital so I had some time to kill. This is at Bonsecours, a landscaped area behind the basilica overlooking the Seine. It didn't click till I got home and looked properly who the main statue is
Joan of Arc. Every other statue or monument in Rouen is Joan of Arc. It's where she was supposedly burned at the stake (although there is a theory it wasn't her)
Thanks, @Plantminded. He's doing really well. The specialist was pleased with his progress and said he can start doing short car journeys and start walking. Oh. For the last 6 weeks we've been driving two or three times a day for dog walks - just short 45 minutes ones as Millie's arthritic - and he's then been going off with Alfie as well, maybe 9km or so, and one day he did that twice. (bless little Alf, chihuahua cross terrier, indefatigable).
The bad news is that he's got to keep the brace on for another 6 weeks. Still, we're used to it and know there is an end in sight.
