Loving all these. Might it be a good idea to combine this thread, with the leaves and seeds thread, they seem to have a lot in common, and all-you artists could play happily.
If it’s a silly idea, ignore it.
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

    S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
  • @punkdoc Not at all a silly idea. I thought the same at one point but I think the leaves & seeds, and this thread are becoming increasingly different. What I would do, though, is merge the two close ups threads (flowers, then leaves etc) into one plant close ups that can continue throughout the year.

  • Being a relatively newcomer to this forum, may I put in my thought?

Thank you for not saying "no"! 😁

I think that the close-up pictures of flowers should also include the seedheads, since one tends to come from the other.

I think there should be a separate one for leaves, bark, and fungi.

I think the creative thread (this one) should be left for those wishing to experiment with pictures, rather than basic photos of the others.

But, you WILL find others adding to the unintended threads, no matter how well you display the details for each thread.
You WILL find that the threads get watered down from their original ideas.
You probably can't split postings to put in the new intended threads.

    Good luck. 👍

I don't mind if the seed and flower threads are a bit  muddled.  This thread is more along the lines of the crafters thread to me.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Today's experiments 🤔.

    That's my thought too.

@rowlandscastle444, probably speaking selfishly, I like to be able to look at various aspects of a plant, which might be its flower, its leaves, its seeds, its stem/trunk. It would simplify things to have just one thread that covers them all rather than have to work out what goes where, or muddle them as I know I do. Plus it's pretty well the same people posting on both of the close up threads.

The insect one is a little different and there may be people who would rather not see insect and spiders close up (how could you not? :D), so I'd keep that one separate.

  • Very much like the pots shots, @Plantminded

Another odd one. This is not processed, it is as shot. It's against a spot of light coming through the trees from the setting sun, and the poppy seed head is slightly out of focus, deliberately. It's a gorgeous seed head, I've kept it to try other shots on.
