Pear tree disease

Can someone help? I have a problem with my pear tree. AS you can see fro the images it is a serious problem. I have sprayed with a fungiside ( twice now) the problem seems to be getting worse and the fruit is rotting and falling off. Do I need to chop it down?

    It's pear rust.
Nothing to be too concerned about.
There are no treatments available in the UK.
It won't harm your tree and the pears are fine to eat.
The spores arrive on pears in the spring and cause the effects in your pics.
When the leaves fall, the spores overwinter on junipers and return to the pear trees when they produce leaves.
I have 4 pears and one or more get it every year.

Thanks so spraying it with copper fungicide is ineffective?

    Copper fungicide will help.
I guess you're making your own (Bordeaux Mixture) or don't live in UK as all copper-based fungicides are banned in the UK.
The times to use it are February and November - when the spores are on the move.
I don't bother as it doesn't really do any damage to the tree or fruit.

I live and bought it in the Uk? I was told that I should spray every 10 days.

How interesting.. what product are you using?
The rules must have changed over the past few years - last I was aware it was banned.
Maybe I'll give mine a spray too

I pick off affected leaves and bag and bin them. It doesn’t affect the crop we get.

The amount of rust we get on the peartree has significantly decreased since neighbours removed a couple of juniper trees a couple of years ago.

Pears rotting from the inside means they’ve been left on the tree too long. Pears ripen after picking.

    Thanks!
    It's not cheap tho.
I may get the ingredients - copper sulphate and slaked lime and make my own.
There are plenty of recipes for Bordeaux Mixture online.
