Identification from sons garden please

Two plants to ID please

  • @Copperdog Spirea Aguta .  Not sure on the fern.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Yes, agree re the Spirea. The fern looks rather like Osmunda regalis, but I find ferns quite difficult to ID with confidence so am happy to be corrected!

    Agree with @LG_ ; Osmunda regalis .
  • Our Osmunda regalis has been magnificent this year. The fronds as they develop are great to watch and then the fertile fronds just add yet more to the fern. Lovely plant.

    I don't think the foliage is right for that spirea. Mine certainly don't have such rounded ends to the foliage, and the foliage look very large. 
    Unless it's not Bridal Wreath, and is a different variety, or a different spirea .  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Hi @Fairygirl I feel the same as you. I had arguta bridal wreath here in our garden but it got too big for space so took it out but I agree the foliage didn’t really look like that.
