Spring-flowering bulb i.d. please

I dug these out of a pot where the label had already vanished. Might they be crocus or muscari? They have  a textural outer covering. I am not sure how old they are, but are crocuses and muscari reliably perennial? ( I am not sure what conditions these bulbs encountered, but the soil was not too damp when I found them).

More like Iris bulbs than either Muscari or Crocus.
  • @clematisdorset Iris Reticulata?

  • Thank you @Palustris & @GardenerSuze, I did plant iris reticulata some years ago but only remembered when seeing your replies. Thank you very much. I will replant them just in case they come up.

  • @clematisdorset I think there is a good chance they will come up. The chances of them flowering is not so likely. Year one they do well but then they form tiny bulbils feeding afer flowering can help.

Feeding as said and deep planting seems to help them flower again.
  • Thank you @Palustris & @GardenerSuze, hopefully I will buy some more to flower next spring and put the old ones somewhere less prominent. 😊

  • @clematisdorset I worked in a garden where Iris reticulata Katherine Hodgkinson was dug up after flowering stored and the best replanted in Autumn. All the tiny bulbils were thrown and the stock did decrease but that seemed to work for an extra year two years.
