Weed or flower?

When we moved into this property there was a beautiful poppy plant which we cut down when it had finished flowering. It appears the plant shown in the picture is either a weed or something which will flower later. It began to grow almost in the same place as the poppy.

I don’t think they’re sterile but they won’t come true, although I’ve never had a self seeder and the plants have been there for years. I don’t bother collecting them.
