Weeds in lawn

Sorry, I am a complete novice.  We have a lawn a few years ago and these have begun to appear.  Can someone identify it and tell me how to get rid of it please?  Thanks Chris

looks like Self-heal. Prunella vulgaris. I rely on the non-grass in my 'lawn' to keep it green in summer

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • Pulling them out by hand would be my first option. Then applying feed, new seed and fresh topsoil. If you can't pull them out by hand, then you could apply a selective weed killer but you'll need to wait a minimum of 6 weeks before overseeding after that.
