Cypress trees help

Gardening experts - I planted these 6 Italian cypress trees about 3 months ago. All planted at the same time, with the same soil, same treatment etc. 3 seem to have died off. But can anyone tell me what could have happened or can I save them? 😩 Tia

  • Unfortunately, they look as if they're beyond saving.  Probably down to dehydration, all new trees and shrubs need copious amounts of water to get established, especially during the summer months.  Your trees do look very close to the fence.  I'd relocate the green ones so that they are out of the rain shadow of the fence, and keep them well watered to help them get established. I'm assuming you prepared the raised bed well before planting with the addition of plenty of organic matter to help to retain moisture. If not, you can apply a mulch on top.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.
