Lupins

I planted lupins for the first time this year in large pots. There is constantly a white powder like stuff in the leaves, I am constantly cutting them off. Also holes and silvery stuff which I assume are snail damage. Any ideas to help rectify above. I'm so disappointed.

  • I never had luck with lupins in pots as I found they suffered from powdery mildew like yours. I think they were a bit stressed/lacked water and food in the pots so moved them to the borders and  I have not had any powdery mildew this year.

They are not a plant that seems to do well in pots, although slug/snail damage is a problem wherever they are.
The powdery stuff is powdery mildew, probably due to plants being too dry.
