Is this a Portuguese or Cherry Laurel?

Someone said it's a Portuguese, someone else said it's Cherry, who's correct? Sorry it's put the photo sideways

    Old thread and finally got round to definitely deciding to buy more of the same to extend my row of laurels. Got given 3 of these and want to plant the same alongside so just more confirmation that this is a cherry laurel and not Portuguese? Thanks

    Google "prunus lusitanica" (Portuguese laurel) and you will see that the leaves are totally different from your laurels.

    Maybe take a couple of leaves with you to the GC or better still go to a proper nursery,  compare with what you intend to buy. A decent place will help you decide.
