Would podyphyilum Spotty dotty be dying back by now?

I bought one around 6 weeks ago and admittedly it’s not in the most moist bit of the border and I was thinking I would put it in a pot anyway like all my hostas but I noticed it’s kind of really floppy now and at first I thought water then I wondered if maybe it’s more about the time of year? Do these disappear completely in winter?

    I think they die right back … @Hostafan1 might know … I think he has/had one …

    Mine is still in full leaf, but it does die back over winter.

    Thankyou mine is full leaf still just very floppy / bendy stems 🤔
