  • Here are a couple of photos :) The plant has been there for a while - months - and grown in that time. The stem & buds in the second picture had white flowers on them xx

@MOrgana, your recent photos are Geranium macrorrhizum which is what 'White Ness' is. I think your runners from the side are an infiltration of Creeping Buttercup.  Buttercup to the right in the top photo

This is mine, not as impressive as yours.

  • They are lovely plants @M0rgana not sure why you failed with the cuttings.I would give it another go. If you take a stem to one side and follow it down underground you can make a cut at a node and pot up. I have also planted these cuttings directly into the soil after flowering and they have taken. Good Luck I am sure you will be successful.

  • Re Whiteness leaves, do these have a "sticky" texture?  I find some geraniums do, but others have lovely soft leaves, eg Magnificum.
  • Ah ha! Thank you all. Mystery solved. I need to identify what a node is, I think... Do I cut above, below, or through one when I find it?

@M0rgana Just below but with G White Ness it isn't an exact science it wants to form roots from all the nodes on the stem that is why you should be successful.

@ViewAhead The most distinct thing about this Geranium is the smell of the leaves said to be aromatic but unpleasent when you have cut back fifty of them at the bottom of a fence yuk
