Looks like Symphoricarpos albus or Snowberry .
  • I had a skinny one in the front garden not doing much at all. It was hemmed in by other shrubs so I couldn't dig it out. Saw no harm in pruning to the base. My goodness it was like the starting pistol of a race. It's spread like crazy and the only thing stopping world domination is the driveway keeping it in the corner.

I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

An absolute scourge! It's been in the hedges here since time began and nothing I do will teach it manners! A complete nightmare.

    My biggest ever mistake.
Would weedkiller work on it ? I've just found some appearing near the front of the flower bed.
  • I have successfully killed small patches at a time @AnniD but there's so much of it round here that it just keeps creeping (marching) back in.  >:)
  • Haha ok thanks! Well look at my first photo, it was a monster bush so I battled and battled and got rid of it...(or so I thought)  it's already started to grow back at speed...my second photo, so I just wondered what it was, I will keep battling with it!
