Star Jasmine help please!

I have a star jasmine that is approximately 5 years old. It has been growing on an obelisk the whole time. The stems are thick and woody and entwined around the obelisk. I would like to move it to the back fence on to a bigger area but how do I remove the obelisk? Do I have to cut it right down? It seems such a shame as it is so healthy.

It sounds like a big plant to move successfully … you might be at risk of losing it; especially if you need to untwine it from an obelisk.

I would take some cuttings first so that whatever happens you still have your Jasmine.
