Problem with chamaecyparis
Hi, my chamaecyparis' leaves were pretty soft before, but now, since i didn't water it for more than a week, most of them have become really dry to the touch (not the upper ones though), but at the same time the same leaves are green as before; i gave it water some hours ago, but is there anything else i can do? Are they going to turn brown? Is the plant going to die somehow? I don't know the exact species of my chamaecyparis (i'm pretty sure it's not a chamaecyparis Sunkist as written on the pot); and i don't know why the leaves below are greener than the ones on top, it has always been like this.

It urgently needs a much bigger pot with good drainage holes at the base, decent loambased compost (John Innes No 2 or 3) with a couple of handfuls of horticultural grit mixed in, and watering well.
your forefinger into the compost up to the first joint … when the compost at that level feels dry give it another really good watering.
