Spring bulbs in ground with perennials

    I generally plant all my bulbs in pots (using the cheapest compost I can find, it's just a medium for them to grow roots into) and then plant them in their final positions in the spring when I can see where the spaces are.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    It's particularly useful if you haven't got the perennials as you can put them all in at the same time. It also means you can have a nice bulb display in spring by grouping pots together, and have them near your windows where you might see them more often, especially the very early ones   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
