Mystery Plant

Hello,

Does anyone know what this plant is? It has small hairy leaves so likes hot dry conditions.

Thank you

    Some type of Lychnis perhaps?

The first photo, seedling, I thought Lychnis coronaria, but the mature plants not.

I agree with Lychnis coronaria and I think the other plant is a cudweed.

It looks similar to helichrysum Ruby Cluster.

@Ceres Thankyou so much, that is exactly what I have been trying to think of, knew it had reddish pink flowers and I did wonder if it could be dried but that was as far as I got!
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
  • Hello All,

Thank you for responding to my post it is much appreciated. Having checked out all of your suggestions I now believe the plant is Common Cudweed - Filago vulgaris
