Albertine rose

I cut my mature albertine rose down to a stump so that a fence post could be repaired. It was out of control anyway. It's sprouting well now.
If I kept it fairly tightly pruned, would it still flower? If not, it'll have to go

I had a couple of Albertines many moons ago and they rambled along fences quite happliy. I can't see that you could keep a rambler under tight control without basically turning it into a bonsai. It's bred to spread and cannot be anything other than flamboyant and by tightly pruning it, it would never get a chance to flower. But I could be wrong......

I hope you're wrong! It was going a good 10 ft + in either direction, flowers once and the flowers don't die prettily.  It will probably have to go.
    Thank you @Ceres
