Leaf nibblers!

  • So true!  Mind, I am very respectful of ants.  Read a book about them once and was just awed by it.  Their nests have air conditioning, amenity tips, and a special place for dead bodies.  Really astonishing little critters.

I wasn't pleased when a red one bit me between the toes (excruciatingly painful), but if one ventures into the house, I do gently relocate it outside.
  • I lifted two identical pots, side by side, with two 'identical' plants, one had a million ants and one had none. Weirdos!
  • I promise you, they know what they're doing.  They had a morning meeting before setting out and have a specific mission underway.  😎

I always have a lot of the brown / black ants, but this year for the first time I have several plants with a red ant nest around the rootball.

  • Stand well clear, is my advice!   Their bites pack a punch.
