Problem with garden bush

Recently moved into a property and there is what I think is a laurel bush in the garden but it appear to be dead with holes all in the leaves. Any suggestions as to why?

Are the surrounding plants affected at all?

Looks like the plant is Viburnum, and it may have been attacked by viburnum beetle.
  • Yes that is Viburnum Beetle. V Tinus is always badly affected. It will over winter.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
