Pruning potter Bay- too late?

Something I should have looked at before now but hey ho...can I get away with it this late in summer?

I have 2 in pots that are on the shaggier side (see pic) but Spring to Mid-Summer seems to be the google advice. Might be something to factor in- I'm in the North East of Scotland.

As long as you’re planning to do just mild pruning, it should still be fine to do this unless it is really cold and exposed where you are. I pruned mine last week.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

A light trim would be OK ( anything you could cut with a pair of scissors) but leave the woody bits until the spring.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Perfect cheers, sounds like I'll get away with a selective trim.
