You need to tell us what your soil is like, which way the fence faces and roughly whereabouts you are as a rose that will thrive in Cornwall or a sheltered town garden may not to so well on the Yourkshire moors or in Scotland.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • Thanks for responding. I'm in East London. Soil is good (other roses thriving), the fence faces south-east

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks Fairygirl, lovely images but I'm needing to know which climbing roses are good for a 6ft fence - preferably scented and with relatively large flowers

You just need to ask them- you're more likely to get a good reply there   :)

Rose vendors like Austin and Beales help you choose a rose for a particular location.. I always think it's best to pick out roses oneself, then ask about them individually,  because our tastes may not be yours, however, 'Bathsheba' would fit requirements if you like the colour.. It enjoys an east-south facing site.. I could name so many others but they would be my choices, and it's time consuming..

It's ok to ask on separate threads though, so others may choose to contribute..  the Rose thread is in the main, a photo gallery thread, and unfortunately questions can get lost amongst the heady mix of pictures that we all post..
