young appletree lost all its leaves

hello  i recently posted to say the apple tree had one apple that was bitter, didnt realise you had to wait till they ripened. then  the leaves looked as though they were drying looked at them and tiny white long things were crawling on them so sprayed them with bug killer and that was ok but now the next thing is all the leaves have dropped off the tree.
i noticed we had a heavy rainfall and the trays underneath the trees were full of water, i looked again this morning and still full so  has not  drained away .
the  pear tree  next to it  it has leaves which not looking very good either, also not drained away
the plum tree is doing fine no problems .  should i take the apple and pear tree aand lift out then repot them both .  i dont understand them not draining as i put plenty of old broken plant pots at bottom of container for drainage . any help advise appreciated thankyou

I'm slightly confused. If you had pots in trays to help retain water, they wouldn't drain. That could mean they're waterlogged rather than dried out, for example  :)
Photos needed, and more info about the growing medium, and how they're planted - as in distance from other plants or buildings.
If they're young/immature trees, it isn't unusual for them to be heading for dormancy and losing foliage. That will also depend on your location. Many mature trees here are turning, and that's not due to stress - that's perfectly normal.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

ohthanks for that info ,actually the trees are next to each other  andup against the garage wall, but we have hada look in thegarden andthere isspace to put theapple tree in one spot and the pear tree in another as they are not big trees.do you think they would be better in the ground, i thought i was doing right by putting the trays underneath ,oh well you live and learn , i have removed the trays now/ this is my first year of planting things to eat and have done well with pumpkins and cucumbers even though i have got one of each, squash looks as though its doing ok cabbages grew but lots of holes in leaves still edible all those planted in soil. onceagain thanks for help
