Time to chill out

A very short video shot today in our local Glen in NE Scotland, we needed a break and thought I'd share it, there is a bit of natures sound track on the film.

Beautiful,  everyone needs a day out in the countryside. ❤️
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Thank you Lyn

Did you not nip up Mt. Keen or Mt. Battock while you were there @tigerburnie ;)
    Nice video  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I didn't but I have twice climbed up Mount Keen, Mt Battock is one on my list when I am fit again.

It's not very exciting @tigerburnie, but a nice enough short walk, and very easy.
I did it at this sort of time of year - the best parts were the red squirrel on the way back to the car, and the feast of brambles in the hedging just before I got to the car itself  :D

I probably did a short walk description for the camera thread on the forum. I can have a look if you want, and give you a link, but you can get plenty of info on walkhighlands.  :)

Thanks, I use Wallkhighlands and post on there when fit enough to Munroe, recovering from surgery just now.

    Oh - that's a shame @tigerburnie. Hope it isn't anything too serious.
I found a couple of pix from my walk there - it isn't terribly exciting as hill walks go, but if you're looking for something not too far away, and not too taxing, after you recover, it certainly fits the bill. There's an access track for most of it.

The cairn is big, but I liked the hole in it!

On a half decent day, it's not a serious outing in any way, and the views are pleasant enough.
I can't remember how long it took, but probably in the 4 hour-ish sort of mark. One of those days when I'm longer in the car than on the hill  ;)

Many years ago, i watched the sunrise on the summit of Mount Keen with a few friends. As it is the most easterly Munro, we decided to watch the sunrise at the equinox.
After a night in the pub, we headed for the summit at closing time, armed with a couple of bottles of whisky. One of the party was too drunk/tired to make the summit, so slept in the heather just after the last cottage. Another crashed out half way up. As the sun came up, the stragglers made the summit. A few hippy/druid type folk that arrived just before sunrise, seemed quite surprised to find a group of drunk hillwalkers already in residence.  :D

  • There was a lot of snow the last time I was up Mt Keen, the cairn was full of snow, so we sat out of the wind and had a coffee and food, before the long slog back to the car park. My favourite is to go through Corrie Fee, up the waterfall and on to Dreish and Mayar.

The Corrie Fee is superb isn't it? I didn't get as good a pic as I'd have liked. Should have made a much better job of it, especially with the panoramic option on the camera. Managed to chop off the top in that 2nd one  :/

it's also impressive when looking down from above.

    A nice straightforward walk  :)
Hope you're better soon @tigerburnie and can get out.
